abstract a device was developed to quantify microalgal parameters, using an optical density sensor in six wavelengths, from ultraviolet to near infrared, with the objective of reaching key points of the typical absorbance spectrum of chlorophyll microalgae, in order to make it possible to estimate in a single electronic system, the content of intracellular compounds in microalgae (lipids, pigments, carbohydrates and proteins), and to quantify the concentration of biomass and the number of microalgae cells per cultivation volume. it also allows estimating the nitrogen dissolved in the crop and coupling sensors to quantify inorganic carbon, dissolved oxygen, salinity and pH of the medium in real time in open or closed crops. the particularity of the sensor is to present characteristics of the samples in real time and to transmit data through the rs-232 interface, thus reducing the time to know the cultivation conditions. the technical / industrial sector of the application is that of electronic instrumentation and sensors, and the sector of cultivation of microalgae
