abstract Lipid biomarkers, method and kit for laboratory diagnosis of schizophrenia from blood serum. the present technology deals with a set of 38 lipid biomarkers for the laboratory diagnosis of schizophrenia from blood serum. it also deals with a kit and method for such diagnosis. the kit comprises 38 lipid isotopes labeled as a reference standard for use as a basis for calculating the concentration of biomarkers in the serum sample. the method consists of analyzing blood serum samples by flow injection analysis and detection by tandem mass spectrometry (fia-ms/ms), and evaluating the panel concentrations of selected lipids in the present technology. the method has high sensitivity and specificity.
