abstract the present invention patent aims to be a “herbal medicine obtained exclusively from coconut oil”, for topical use in order to accelerate the healing process of skin wounds, in order to contribute with viable treatment alternatives that enable a new approach therapeutic, in relation to existing similars. several types of fatty acids are already known, but when it comes to wound treatment, linoleic acid and linolenic acid are still the most used for the treatment of pressure ulcers; acute and chronic wounds, with or without infection, of any etiology; wounds with loss of superficial and partial tissue; perilesion dermatitis; first and second degree burns and ammoniac dermatitis. despite the widespread use of these types of fatty acids, some inconveniences can be attributed to it, such as high costs, of herbal medicines. another problem, brazil has a vast source of medicinal plants and is widely accepted by the population. according to the world health organization (oms) 80% of the population use it, however many still do not have scientifically proven effectiveness. in view of this problem, and in order to overcome them, the ointment formulated from extra virgin coconut oil was developed to accelerate the healing process of skin wounds.
