| abstract |
"Variable Resistance Biological Indicator" The present invention relates to a Variable Resistance Biological Indicator that can be controlled by moving a cover or compartment of the Biological Indicator to make the size of the breathers allowing the sterilizer to flow through. compartment size decreases or increases in effective size. An indicator window can show the user the current resistance of the biological indicator and can also show a readable indicator that can be picked up by a scanner to allow a sterilization cabinet to identify the current resistance. When the resistance level shown by the readable indicator is not compatible with a user-selected sterilization cycle, the procedure may be delayed and a notification to the user indicates that a problem exists. The readable indicator can be a passive tag with a memory that allows information to be read and written so that the biological indicator can load data from one device to another. |
