titleOfInvention | NUCLEIC ACID SEQUENCES AND THEIR USE FOR DETECTION AND TYPING OF HUMAN PAPILOMAVIRUS |
abstract | The present invention consists of synthetic nucleic acid sequences, also called oligonucleotides, primers or DNA primers, and their use for the detection and typing of human papillomavirus (hpv) genotypes in samples containing human cells. The oligonucleotides that make up the present invention bind to specific regions in the gene encoding the e1 replication protein in the hpvs genome, allowing the generation of a measurable marker that determines the presence of the virus and enables typing by the reaction technique. DNA polymerase chain (pcr) and related techniques such as real-time pcr and insulated isothermal pcr, or by hybridization with labeled probes (southern blot or northern blot). |
