abstract The present invention is represented by an inventive solution based on the use of ironwood extract (caesalpinia ferrea mart.) as an antibacterial agent because it has inhibitory activity on the growth of staphylococcus aureus, pseudomonas aeruginosa, acinetobacter spp.e strains. enterobacteria, which are involved in skin infections and are capable of developing resistance to the currently used antibacterials, which extracts can be used in crude form or concentrated extract (acetate fraction) in pharmaceutical formulations intended for topical use.
