abstract The present invention comprises the processes for obtaining, isolating, purifying the bolusanthol d isoflavonoid described in the iupac nomenclature as (3r, 4r) -3- (2-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl) -3,4-dihydro-2h-chromene. 4,7-diol from the crude extract and hexane phase of alagoas red propolis. The method proposed here presents the stages of maceration extraction, partitioning, classical liquid chromatography, and semi-preparative hplc, totaling 4 steps. bolusanthol d can be used as a chemical marker for red alagoas propolis and its extracts. Additionally, the present embodiment provides a chemical-structural characterization process for bolusanthol d which has been established by different spectroscopic techniques such as uv-vis-, ftir-atr, rmn 1h, rmn 13c, dept 90, dept 135, hmbc, cozy. and noesy. Finally, the use of bolusanthol d in pharmaceutical compositions and the use of bolusanthol d with leishmancy activity are presented.
