The present invention comprises dsrna generated from the trehalase gene of d. citri, which is effective in reducing the vigor and / or survival of d. cit. thus, genetically modified plants expressing dsrna and plants to which dsrna solutions are applied increase the mortality of dsrna. citri and reduce d infestation. cit. with reduced population of d. citri, the dispersion of microorganisms for which d. citri is a vector is reduced. Such microorganisms include, but are not limited to species of c. liberibacter, including: clas, clam and claf. thus, the application of trehalase dsrna from d. citri to a plant reduces the transmission of diseases and / or microorganisms by killing d. citri that feeds on the treated plant. |
