abstract In the process of preparing the lpm-6 zeolite, a zinc silicate having mfi topology using a ionic liquid as the structure directing agent the present invention deals with the synthesis of a zeolite named lpm-6, mfi-type structure, which was obtained by the hydrothermal reaction of a mixture comprising a silicon source, a zinc source, zeolitic structure charge compensators, ionic liquid and water. Zinc acetate dihydrate was used as a source of zinc. The structure was used to direct the ionic liquid 1-octyl-3-methylimidazole bromide. This zeolite is microporous with adsorbent properties, catalytic capacity and ion exchange capacity.
