abstract Patent and Summary: "Device and process for measuring moisture in die-casting molds". The present invention relates to a device (1) and a method for measuring moisture in die casting molds (24), whose mold cavity (25) is connected with a venting device (28) via a ventilation duct (31). The modularly constructed device (1) may be connected with the vent (31) and comprises a sensor arrangement (s) whereby moisture can be measured from the suction gases of the mold cavity (25). ). The sensor arrangement (s) has a transmitter (7) emitting electromagnetic radiation and a receiver (14) that detects electromagnetic radiation. Due to the measured values determined during the evacuation process, it can be determined whether the amount of a mixture of water and separating agent that is sprayed into the mold cavity (25) prior to the casting process itself should be modified.
