Use of carbon nanostructures as photosensitizers in polymerization reaction The present invention describes the photoinduced polymerization process using carbon nanostructures as initiators, especially carbon quantum dots (cds), also known as carbon quantum dots (cods) or carbon two ( cds). The CDs were effective as photosensitizers promoting polymerization of the model polymer, acrylamide. In addition to this function, cds can significantly improve the properties of prepared materials due to their excellent mechanical properties and chemical and thermal stability. In addition, its use is less harmful to the environment than traditional substances, as it can be obtained from different renewable sources, including agricultural waste. Finally, the technology presented represents a new and viable alternative for photosensitizers currently used, especially in the sectors related to the production of resins, adhesives and inks. |
