vilsmeier adduct step polymerization process for the production of polyarylenes The present invention relates the process of synthesizing polyarylenes of various structural characteristics through step polymerization involving a vilsmeier adduct using various diphenols and various aromatic diacids. The developed technique favored the synthesis of structurally different polyarylenes of semicrystalline structure, depending on the reaction temperature. The high thermal resistance, independent of the polymerization time, suggests wide application in processes involving temperatures up to 350 ° C. These polyesters can be used as precursors for the synthesis of other polymers, heterogeneous acid catalysts, proton exchange resins and for the preparation of polymeric ion exchange membranes, which are used in fuel cells. |
