titleOfInvention CHEMICALLY MODIFIED BUTYRAL POLYVINYL WITH SILANAS FOR IMPROVED RESISTANCE TO ORGANIC SOLVENTS
abstract chemically modified polyvinyl butyral with silanes for improved resistance to organic solvents. a chemically modified polyvinyl butyral (pvb) with silanes such as vinyl trimethoxy silane (vtmo) is described that combines between 30% and 95% gel content, including typical ranges of 50% and 80% and 60% and 70% gel content , and mechanical properties of tensile strength in mpa, as measured by the iso 527 type 1ba standard between 17.2 and 20.8, of strain at break in %, as measured by the iso 527 method of the type 1ba between 205, 9 and 238.1, and shore a hardness values, as measured by the astm d2240 method between 60.4 and 57.8, the mechanical property values being similar to those obtained for the same properties of the unmodified or starting pvb.
