titleOfInvention | chromium (iii) oxide obtained from sulfochromic residues for application in advanced oxidative processes |
abstract | chromium (iii) oxide obtained from sulfochromic residues for application in advanced oxidative processes. The residue of the suifochromic solution may have the trivalent chromium (cr (iii)) and hexavalent (cr (vi)) species, which characterizes it with potential for contamination, if not properly treated. The main applications of this solution are: soil organic matter analysis and industrial surface treatment processes. From this perspective, enabling the recovery and reuse of chromium from waste is a way of minimizing the environmental impacts and costs of the process in which chromium species will be employed. The present invention provides a solution to the problem of waste disposal of sulfochromic solution from research and service laboratories in public and private institutions. From this perspective, this invention allows the recovery of chromium (iii) oxide and its application as a heterogeneous catalyst for the degradation of organic compounds present in effluents. Chromium (iii) oxide is obtained cheaply, quickly and with low toxicity byproducts, ensuring the minimization of environmental impacts. |
