titleOfInvention METHOD FOR OPERATING A DIESEL INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
abstract METHOD FOR OPERATING A DIESEL INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE The present invention relates to a drive device for motor vehicles, comprising a device for partial fuel oxidation (2), a fuel tank (1) and a combustion engine. diesel engine (4), in which the drive device is characterized by the fact that the device for partial fuel oxidation (2) remains in fluid connection with the fuel tank (1) and with the fuel engine. diesel internal combustion engine (4), in such a way that at least a part of the fuel transported in the motor vehicle can be taken up for partial oxidation before combustion in the diesel internal combustion engine. Devices of this nature have the advantage that less primary soot actually appears during fuel combustion and that it can be retained in an attached filter and undergo complete combustion at lower burning temperatures. The invention further relates to different methods for operating such drive devices, as well as the use of partially oxidized fuel in the described drive devices to reduce soot emissions.
