titleOfInvention air-maintained tire
abstract Abstract "Air-maintained tire" The present invention relates to a pump-air-operated pneumatic assembly comprising: a tire with two spaced inextensible beads; a tread that makes contact with the ground; a pair of individual sidewalls extending radially inwardly from the outer axial edges of said tread to join the respective beads; a support housing for the tread and sidewalls; an inner liner disposed radially into the housing, the inner liner having a surface facing the inner cavity of the tire; a substantially elongated annular air passageway enclosed within a tire bend region, the air passage operatively closing and opening segment by segment as the tire bend region passes through the tire tread to pump air through the passageway of air; a coupled air inlet port assembly and in air flow communication with the air passage in a junction with the inlet air passage, the air inlet port assembly being operable to guide the inlet air from outside the tire to the air passageway, the air inlet port assembly comprising a regulating assembly which has a mounting surface; the mounting surface being adhered to the inner liner surface with a silicone adhesive.
