abstract antimicrobial activity and synergistic composition of stingless indigenous bee honeys (meuponine). The present invention is a composition containing a mixture of honeys obtained from two stingless indigenous bees (scaptotrigona bipunctata lepeletier and scaptotngona postica latreilie) with antimicrobial effect. the honeys were obtained by collecting nests belonging to the meliponary of the london state university (federal technical register no. 2009394), and also in the rppn ranch sinai conservation unit (ordinance iap / gp -162/07), malá da serra- pr. The composition showed higher antibacterial action against some bacteria of medical interest, when compared to the action of the separated honeys. honeys also had antifungal effect (yeast and filamentous fungi). The invention is important for microbial control and may be used in the areas of human and veterinary health, preferably in the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and natural antimicrobial industries for the control and prevention of infections in humans and other animals.
