titleOfInvention | METHOD FOR EXTRACTION AND SEPARATION OF LIGHT RARE EARTH ELEMENT |
abstract | METHOD FOR THE EXTRACTION AND SEPARATION OF LIGHT RARE EARTH ELEMENT. A target light rare earth element is separated from an aqueous solution containing two or more of La, Ce, Pr, and Hd by contacting an organic phase containing an extractor with the aqueous solution in a multi-stage mixer-settler of the counter flow current while adding an alkaline solution to it, and contact the organic phase with an acidic aqueous solution for the re-extraction of the target element. The extractor is a dialkyl diglycolamic acid having the formula: R ^ 1 ^ R ^ 2 ^ NCOCH ~ 2 ~ OCH ~ 2 ~ COOH where R ^ 1 ^ and R ^ 2 ^ are alkyl, at least one having at least 6 carbon atoms. |
