titleOfInvention BIODEGRADABLE NASAL APPLICATION DRUG RELEASE SYSTEMS
abstract BIODEGRADABLE DRUG RELEASE SYSTEMS FOR NASAL APPLICATION. The present invention relates to the pharmaceutical formulation capable of treating diseases of the mucosa of the nasal cavities and paranasal cavities, of which chronic rhinosinusitis is the most frequent. Said formulation comprises a matrix system, compatible with the application in the paranasal sinuses, or within the nasal polyps in humans and animals, and may contain different drugs, in particular prednisolone. For the composition of the system, the poly D, L-lactic-co-glycolic polymer is used as a polymeric matrix. The biodegradable implant formulation is not capable of causing toxicity or inflammation to the maxillary sinus mucosa of animals.
