titleOfInvention | BIOLOGICAL METHOD FOR DETECTION AND QUANTIFICATION OF VIABLE PATHOGENIC BACTERIA USING LASER AS A SELECTIVE VIRICIDE AGENT |
abstract | BIOLOGICAL METHOD FOR DETECTION AND QUANTIFICATION OF VIABLE PATHOGENIC BACTERIA USING LASER AS A SELECTIVE VIRICIDE AGENT. It is our patent to discover the use of Laser as a selective viricidal agent by testing the phage amplification technique to identify Listeria monocytogenes cells. Outside tested: strains of L.monocytogenes serotype 4b, ATCC 15313, L. ivanovii as host cells and bacteriophage A511. The viricidal treatment proposed in this patent consists of the combination of the toluidine blue cationic basic dye (200 <109> g / mL) with the Laser (Laser Beam, model DR 500) and 660nm wavelength, at 50mW. The best condition for the selective treatment tested was Laser application at a 7 minute exposure time at an energy density of 14 J / cm ^ 2 ^. In addition, artificially inoculated skimmed milk was tested and it was possible to identify low values as 13 colony forming units (CFU) per mL of milk after 10 hours of assay time. |
