device and biomolecular quantification methods based on infrared (iv), where the method comprises the steps of: providing a sample support having a porous membrane with a hydrophilic region surrounded by a hydrophobic region for sample containment; contacting the hydrophilic region of the membrane with a sample volume; drying the sample volume on the membrane; exposing the sample volume on the membrane to an infrared ray comprising a wavelength in the spectral range of 4000-400 cm-1 or any portion of the spectral range of 4000-400 cm-1, to thereby obtain an infrared absorption spectrum; and in one or more areas of peak absorption in the infrared absorption aspect it correlates with the amount of one or more biomolecules in the sample; while the device comprises a sample support card having a porous membrane that includes a hydrophilic region surrounded by a hydrophobic region, where the sample is contained within the limits of the hydrophilic region. |
