A soft mass molding process in which the moldable thermoplastic powder composition dosed into the mold is prepared by mixing carboxylic acid and ethylene copolymers or ionomers with ethylene / glycidyl acrylate or methacrylate copolymer and cross-linking promoter at a temperature and for a time that does not cause significant crosslinking prior to dosing to the mold, which is maintained for a time and temperature sufficient to cause in situ crosslinking and, optionally, other additives including release agents.
