Method to produce riboflavin |
abstract |
"METHOD FOR PRODUCING RIBOFLAVINE". A method of riboflavin production by culturing riboflavin-producing microbes in a culture medium using a vegetable oil or an animal oil as a carbon source, forming and accumulating riboflavin therein and collecting riboflavin therefrom, in which a vehicle of a clay mineral having oil absorbing property, a chemically treated product thereof or a calcium compound is present in the culture medium. Riboflavin is produced while maintaining high yield and high production speed at a low cost without the need for cumbersome operations for riboflavin concentration and recovery. Further recovery of riboflavin is allowed by the effective use of waste vegetable oil or waste animal oil that is to be discarded. |
