titleOfInvention use of cationic phthalocyanine salts, photoesterilizing agent, process for sterilization of microbiologically contaminated waters, and installation to perform the same
abstract "USE OF CATIENIC FTALOCYANINE SALTS, PHOTO-STERILIZING AGENT, PROCESS FOR STERILIZATION OF MICROBIOLOGICALLY CONTAMINATED WATERS, AND INSTALLATION TO CARRY OUT THE SAME". New use of cationic phthalocyanine salts as photoesterilizing agents for microbiologically contaminated waters, particularly to inactivate gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, yeasts, mycoplasmas and parasites. The synergistic action for the photoesterilization of water by the simultaneous use of the cationic phialocyanine salt and a porphyrin molecule, which performs its photoesterilizing action by a mechanism similar to the typical phthalocyanine, and whose visible light absorption spectrum effectively complements the phthalocyanine absorption. The photoesterilizing salts of the invention may be added to water as a solution, or as a powder, tablet or associated with an inert matrix.
