titleOfInvention Aqueous dispersions of polymers
abstract "WATER DISPOSALS OF POLYMERS". The overall performance of water-reducible polymer dispersions, more specifically alkyd dispersions, can be substantially improved by using resins derived from polyalkylene terephthalate and polyalkylene naphthalate acidolysis reaction products. According to this invention, polymer dispersions can be produced from low acidity polymers and still have good water dispersibility. When formulating an aqueous coating composition using the dispersion of this invention, a final coating is formed that has good hydrolytic stability, and when combined with a latex, it has improved gloss and wet adhesion.
