abstract | Invention Patent: "WATER ABSORBING RESIN, HYDROPOLYMER, PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF THE SAME AND USES OF THE SAME". The present invention provides a production process by which a water-absorbent resin of excellent quality can be obtained at a low cost by means of reasonable aqueous solution polymerization steps. The process for producing a water-absorbent resin comprises the step of polymerizing an aqueous solution of water-absorbing resin-forming monomers including acrylic acid and its sodium salt as the main components, and is characterized by the fact that: (1) the aqueous solution has a monomeric component concentration of not less than 45% by weight; (2) the polymerization is carried out while water is evaporated, so that the ratio (concentration ratio) between a concentration of solid component in a hydropolymer when formed through polymerization and a concentration of solid component in the aqueous monomeric solution is no less than 1.10; and (3) the concentration of solid component in the hydropolymer when formed through polymerization is not more than 80% by weight. |
