titleOfInvention Hydrogel-based drug dosage form
abstract "HYDROGEL-BASED DRUG DOSAGE FORM". A controlled release dosage form has a coated core in which the core includes a composition that contains the drug and a composition that expands in contact with water, each occupying these distinct regions within the core. The drug-containing composition comprises a low solubility drug and a drug carrier. The core lining is water-permeable, insoluble in water and has at least one release channel that runs through it. A diversity of formulations with specific drug release profiles is revealed.
