titleOfInvention Method for the stereoselective synthesis of cyclic amino acids
abstract "METHOD FOR THE STEREOSELECTIVE SYNTHESIS OF CYCLIC AMINO ACIDS". The present invention is a route to the stereospecific 3-substituted 3-membered ring isomers of Formula (A). The end products are useful as agents in the treatment of epilepsy, syncope attacks, hypokinesia, cranial disorders, neurodegenerative disorders, depression, anxiety, panic, pain, neuropathological disorders, gastrointestinal disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammation especially arthritis , sleep disorders, premenstrual syndrome and hot flushes. The invention provides new routes for stereoselectively synthesizing gabapentin analogs (Neurontin <32>) of Formulas (I), (II), (III) and (IV) where R is C ~ 1 ~ -C ~ 10 ~ alkyl or cycloalkyl C ~ 3 ~ -C ~ 10 ~ and its pharmaceutically acceptable salts.
