titleOfInvention High molecular weight water-soluble dispersion polymer, and method of preparing the same
abstract "POLYMER OF DISPERSION SOLUBLE IN WATER OF HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT, AND, METHOD OF PREPARATION OF THE SAME". A water-soluble polymer dispersion of high molecular weight, having a mass Brookfield viscosity of about 10 to about 25,000 cps at 25 degrees Celsius, comprising from about 5 to about 50 weight percent of a polymer soluble in water prepared by polymerization, under free radical formation conditions in an aqueous medium of a water-soluble salt in the presence of a stabilizer at a pH greater than 5, from 0 to 30 mol percent of acrylic acid and from 0 to 100 mole percent acrylamide; wherein the stabilizer is an anionic water-soluble polymer having an intrinsic viscosity in NaNO ~ 3 ~ 1M of about 0.1 to 10 and comprises from about 0.1 to about 5 weight percent; and wherein the water-soluble salt is selected from the group consisting of ammonium, alkali metal and alkaline earth metal halides, sulfates, and phosphates and comprises from 5 to about 40 weight percent of the total dispersion weight.
