titleOfInvention Oxidation of hydrocarbons to acid in the presence of fluorocomposite
abstract This invention relates to hydrocarbon oxidation processes, such as cyclohexane, o-xylene, m-xylene and pxylene, to form a respective acid, such as adipic acid, phthalic acid, isophthalic acid and terephthalic acid, for example, by introduction into the mixture reaction of small critical amounts of fluorocomposites. Preferred fluorocomposites are perfluoroacids, for example, perfluoroacetic acid, perfluorobutyric acid and perfluorooctanoic acid. With the introduction of critical amounts of fluorocomposites, reactivity increases without sacrificing yield and / or selectivity.
