titleOfInvention | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONCENTRATION AND STABILIZATION OF RELATED ESTROGENS FROM CALVES |
abstract | The method and device are used to prepare a suitable starting material for pharmaceutical preparations which contain estrogens as active substance. The device is applicable in stables and in the field for concentration and stabilization of mixtures of bound estrogens (CE) contained in the urine of pregnant mares (PMU) on a solid carrier (adsorbent) in a column or filter cartridge. The adsorber column is loaded directly at the urine collection site, thus eliminating the need to transport large quantities of urine to a central processing site on a daily basis. The loading can last for a longer time, continuously up to several weeks, until the adsorber column, respectively the filter cartridge, is filled. The urine is not transported and remains in the same place where it is processed on appropriate devices. Only the filled column or the filter cartridge is transported, which can be done at long intervals, for example up to several weeks. Due to the high stability of CE on the adsorber, no decomposition is expected. |
