abstract | The method comprises the following steps: a) a predetermined volume of water is prepared with predetermined characteristics such as dissolved oxygen content, pH and redoxy potential; (b) a predetermined amount of oils and solvents contaminated with radioactive substances is added to the volume of water, which corresponds to the volume of oils and solvents representing a predetermined fraction of the predetermined volume of water; (c) the amount indicated in step (b) is exposed to micro-organisms at a predetermined temperature and for a predetermined period of time; d) separating at least one portion of the resulting effluent; (e) the water is separated from the substances present in the effluent; (f) substances released from water are recycled or disposed of; (g) the material-free water contained in the effluent is regenerated so as to regain the predetermined characteristics; (h) at least part of the regenerated water is recycled; i) the cycle from step a) is repeated. |
