The new azetidin-2-one compounds are used as intermediates for the preparation of novel lactam analogs or active substances in antimicrobial therapy compositions. They are substituted at the 1-position by different isothiazolidinone radicals and have the general formula in which R1 represents hydrogen or a halogen atom, R2 represents hydrogen or a halogen atom, or a phthalimide group, R3 represents hydrogen or a halogen atom, R4 is hydrogen or a halogen atom , R 5 is a hydrogen atom, a lower linear or branched alkyl, aryl or aralkyl, or radical containing a heterocyclic ring with one or more heteroatoms such as isoxazolyl or pyrazolyl, and n is 0, 1 or 2. |
