Compounds of formula and salts and solvates thereof (e.g. hydrates) in which ro represents hydrogen, halogen or C 1-6 alkyl, r 1 hydrogen, C 1-6 alkyl, C 2-6 alkenyl, C 2-6 alkynyl, halos 1-6 alkyl, C 3-8 cycloalkyl, C 3- 8cycloalkyl C1-3alkyl, arylC1-3alkyl or heteroarylC1-3alkyl, r2 optionally a monosubstituted monocyclic aromatic ring selected from benzene, thiophene, furan and pyridine, or optionally substituted bicyclic ring attached to the remainder of the molecule by the nucleic acid molecule , the fused ring a being a 5-6 membered ring which may be n is unsaturated or partially or fully unsaturated and contains carbon atoms and optionally one or two heteroatoms selected from oxygen, sulfur and nitrogen, r3 means hydrogen or C1-3alkyl, or r1 and r3 together represent a 3 or 4 membered alkyl or alkenyl chain. The compounds are a potent and selective inhibitor of cyclic guanosine 3 ', 5'-monophosphate specific phosphodiesterase (cmp specific pde) and have applications in various therapeutic areas in which this inhibitor is desired, including in the treatment of cardiovascular disorders. |
