METHOD FOR OBTAINING ALCOHOLS AND GLYCOLS |
abstract |
The method for the preparation of lower monovalent orbivalent alcohols includes reaction between the initial substanceand metallic halide where the metal is of the higher of twopossible valences and where hydrohalogen acid and respectivemetallic halide are produced where the metal is of the lower oftwo possible valences. The raction products of the previous stagein their reaction with magnesium oxide, the respective lowermonovalent or bivalent alkanol are produced. The initial substancefor the production of lower monovalent alcohol is lower alkanefrom which the respective lower alkanol is produced. Initialsubstance for the production of lower bivalent alcohol is either alower alkanol or lower alkene from which the respective glycol isproduced. Two continuous systems of fluidized bed reactors ensurethe occurence of the required reaction. |
