titleOfInvention CHOLESTYRAMINE TABLET AND METHOD OF PREPARATION
abstract The invention is applicable in the pharmaceutical industry. The tablet consists of a core of cholestyramine agglomerates with a bulk density of 0.45-0.5 g / ml and a moisture content of 8 to 14% by weight. The agglomerates are formed by very small, irregularly shaped sharp-pointed edges with relatively few large smooth or flat surfaces, the core having a hardness of 18 to 26 sc, a solvent-free coating that comprises 60 to 95 stearic acid by weight , from 5 to 40 polyethylene glycol and from 10 to 20 partially hydrogenated soybean oil. By the method, the wetted cholestyramine particles are ground in a micronization mill and the ground particles are dried at a temperature of 48 to 580c to a moisture content of 8 to 14% by weight. The dried material was fractionated to give cholestyramine agglomerates, which were compressed directly to form the core of the tablet. A solvent-free coating is applied to the core.
