abstract The salts finds application as herbicides and growth regulators, and they are prepared according to a simplified technology. The method consists of interaction of N-phosphonomethylglycine with a compound, selected from the group of compounds of general formula where R1, R2 and R3 are the same or different and they are alkyl groups, having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R4 is an alkyl group with 1 to 12 carbon atoms, an aromatic or an alkyl group, X is chloride, bromide or iodide and Y is nitrogen or phosphor. The reaction is carried out in the presence of trialkylamine of the formula /R/3N, where R is the same or different and represents an alkyl group with 4 to 13 carbon atoms.
