METHODS DEFINING DIABETES FOR D-ALA-D-ALA LIQUID INHIBITORS AS ANTIBACTERIAL MEDICINES |
abstract |
According to the invention, some small molecules can bind to the ATP binding site of D-Ala-D-Ala ligase, even in the absence of an enzyme substrate, and can cause structural changes in the enzyme structure similar to those obtained upon binding of the D-Ala-D-Ala ligase. ATP and enzyme substrate. Such a structural change is required to activate or inhibit the enzyme. An advantage of the invention is the ability to identify key interactions in the active sites of the enzyme and to design and optimize inhibitors. a |
