The method is useful for treating Alzheimer's disease using a novel compound of formula wherein X is phenyl or substituted phenyl; Y is phenyl, substituted phenyl, pyridyl or substituted pyridyl. The invention also relates to a method of inhibiting the accumulation of amyloid proteins using said compound and to a method of depicting amyloid deposits employing isoindole derivatives. |
