The invention relates to 3-deoxy desmycosine derivatives of the formula I as described in the description. Starting from triple protected desmycosin, C-3 oxidation is carried out in the first step and then, optionally, hydrogenation of double bonds and epoxidation, followed by reductive opening of the oxirane ring. The invention also relates to 3-deoxy-desmycosin derivatives of the formula II as set forth in the description. In the first step, triacetyl desmycosine is hydrogenated and then converted to a 2,3-didehydro derivative or 2,3-didehydrodesimicosine via an intermediate mesylate to epoxidation reactions followed by reductive opening of the oxirane ring. |
