titleOfInvention 6-0-SUBSTITUTED MACROLIDES INVOLVING ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY
abstract The invention relates to novel macrolide compounds and compositions useful for the treatment of bacterial infections and to methods for their preparation. The macrolides are substituted at the 6-O-position by X'-Y'-Z ', wherein X 1 is selected from the group consisting of C 1 -C 10 alkyl, C 3 -C 10 alkenyl and C 3 -C 10 alkynyl; Y1 and Z1 are independently selected from the group consisting of optionally substituted aryl and optionally substituted heteroaryl provided that Y1 and Z1 are not both phenyl and when Z1 is thiophenyl, Y1 is not isoxazole.
