The compounds exhibit antipsychotic effects and are useful for treating schizophrenia, organic psychiatric disorders, manic depressive disorders, anxiety states and personality changes. The novel fused ring heterocyclic ring compounds have the general formula wherein Q is 2-indolizinyl, 2-imidazo [1,2- a] pyridinyl, 2-imidazo [1,2-a] pyrimidinyl, 6- dihydroimidazo [2,1-b] thiazolyl or 6-imidazo [2,1-b] thiazolyl group; n is an integer from 2 to 4. The invention also relates to their therapeutically useful salts, to pharmaceutical compositions containing these compounds, to a process for their preparation, and to a method of treatment. |
