The compounds are useful in human medicine. They are bradykinin antagonists and are used to treat bradykinin-induced conditions such as inflammation, cardiovascular disease, pain, colds, allergies, asthma, pancreatitis, burns, viral infections, head injuries, multiple trauma, and the like. The compounds and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts are of the formula wherein A 1 and A 2 are each independently halogen; X is CO, S (O) 2 or S (O) - (CH2) n wherein the sulfur atom is directly attached to the phenyl nucleus and n is 0, 1 or 2, R1 is 8-azabicyclo [ octyl, quinuclidinyl, bicyclo [3,3,0] octyl, C3 -C10 cycloalkyl, 2,3,5,6-tetrahydro-4H-thiopyranyl or C3-6cycloalkylC1-4alkyl optionally substituted with C1-4alkyl, hydroxy, dioxaranyl or oxo group. |
