| abstract |
The method comprises the steps of: (A) dissolving a cellulose-containing material in an aqueous tertiary amine oxide to produce a cellulose solution; (B) spinning the cellulose solution and passing through an aqueous precipitation bath, thereby obtaining water-containing swollen elemental fibers; (C) compressing the water-swellable elementary fibers at different locations so that a minimum of two pressing sites are obtained per millimeter of length, and (D) drying the resulting elementary fibers to cellulosic, wherein the compression is carried out at such a pressure that the resulting squeezing places are preserved in the dried fiber and under observation under linearly polarized light appear as a change in color. |
