titleOfInvention OPHTHALMOLOGICAL COMPOSITION CONTAINING ION-INHIBITOR HYDROPHILE POLYMER AND INORGANIC SALT IN RELATION TO LOWER VISCOSITY
abstract The invention relates to a composition in the form of a topical solution comprising, in% by weight, the following components: an ophthalmically active compound containing basic groups, an ion-sensitive hydrophilic polymer 0.004-1.5, a salt selected from 0.01-2.0 selected from the group of inorganic salts and buffers, and, optionally, a wetting agent and a preservative. The salt and polymer components are in a ratio that provides the solution with a viscosity of at least 1000 mPas and a pH of 4.0 to 8.0. The composition contains a sufficient amount of polymer to provide controlled absorption of the drug into the eye and, with its reduced viscosity, improves its handling.
