titleOfInvention | METHOD FOR MEASURING THE ACTIVITY OF A LIQUID METAL ELEMENT AND MEASURING DEVICE USED THEREFOR |
abstract | As soon as the oxygen activity measuring cell 1, in particular of the zirconia type, immersed in a liquid metal bath becomes conductive, the voltage meter 2 closes the microswitch 15, whereby the timer 13 is activated. This relay 13 switches the change-over switch 10 for 0.5 to 4 seconds, so that during this period the DC source 12 supplies a DC pulse between 0.5 and 0.4 A to the measuring cell 1. The interference influence created by immersing the probe with the measuring cell 1 is thus removed or accelerated. |
