abstract | To prepare vincamine from vincadiformin or tabersomine, the initial compound is subjected to oxidation by a peracid in the presence of a protective agent, chosen from a copper salt and oxalic acid, taking care that the temperature does not exceed the value of 5 degrees C and, preferably, is between -5 degrees C and 0 degrees C, then the reaction mixture obtained, at controlled acid pH, is transposed by heating, and maintained at a temperature of 30-35 degrees C. |
