| abstract | Casings for an underwater TV scanning system including a TV camera and viewfinder and associated floodlights comprise cylindrical chambers made of rigid PVC tube with an external diam. of 0.1 m and a bore diam. of 0.084 m. A transparent glass or PMMA (acrylic) window is clamped on to the leading end and the trailing end is threaded internally to accept a plug with an annular 'neoprene' (polychloroprene) seal and a chromed brass gland to accommodate a power cable entry. The casings described were 0.36 m long to house the camera, 0.23 m long to house the viewfinder, and of unspecified length(s) to house a pair of 250W, 24V spotlamps. The casings were held together by articulated strapping and supported by a flat metal bar with a 'block PMMA handle'. |
