abstract | Compost is proudced from a mixt. of tree bark (I) and soya sludge (II), pref. in a (I):(II) ratio of 70:30. Addn. of (II) allows (I) to be composted effectively without addn. of urea. Addn. of (II) allows (I) to be composted effectively without addn. of urea. (I) may be derived from softwood or hardwood trees. The compost may be produced by forming a heap comprising a bottom layer (pref. 0.5 m thick) of (I), a middle layer (pref. 0.25-0.30 m thick) of (II) and a top layer (pref. 0.20-0.25 m thick) of (I), and turning the heap with a mechanical digger 4-5 times in 2-3 months.
