abstract |
Pellets of a mixt. of UO2 and PuO2 are made by mixing a UO2 powder with a powder consisting of a solid soln. of UO2 and PuO2 then pelleting and firing the mixt. The pellets produced show a uniform distribution of PuO2 in the UO2, while the whole mass of powder does not have to be made in the liquid form. The pellets find use as fuel elements for nuclear reactors. |
